291,299. Morley, G. E., Morley, J. E., and Stephenson, T. G. Nov. 30, 1927. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Skein-holders. - Skeins of wool are supported when unwinding by a device comprising a base 1, and a fixed vertical rod having a sleeve 3 rotatable thereon and provided with collars 5, 6 slotted to receive the end limbs of lazytong members 8. The members 8 are extended to hold the skein by depressing the collar 6. A knob 4 is provided on the rod to prevent axial movement of the sleeve 3. The Provisional Specification describes a modification in which the skein is supported by a lazy-tong device and the sleeve 3, and a further modification in which the sleeve 3 is equipped with a knob and is rotated thereby.
