Abstract
287,481. Erne, G. March 21, 1927, [Convention date]. Atmospheric gas burners; burners for special purposes.-In a gas singeing device for textile threads having a tube 5 forming the inner wall of the gas chamber 1, 2, a small number of perforations leading therefrom into the tube, a sieve 14 is provided within the tube 5. The gas passes through the sieve at reduced pressure through the large number of perforations thereof and burns at the inner side thereof as small flames. The sieve is supported by a flange 15 resting on the top of the burner body. The threads pass downwards as shown through an eyelet 8 and over a roller 7 both mounted on a flap 9 hinged at 10 so that the thread may be withdrawn from the singeing position when desired. The residues of combustion are removed by suction into the casing 11.
