Abstract

Operating and controlling doors by weights; checks.- To a self-closing door A is attached upper and lower pivots, the lower pivot a<1> being housed in a closed socket B provided with an inclined surface b<1> engaged by a roller e on the bracket E secured to the lower pivot, and the upper pivot carrying a loose rail G which rests upon the door and rises and falls with it to close the space between the door and the upper frame D. The loose rail engages both the upper pivots of a pair of swing doors, or it may be loosely mounted at one end on the door frame in the case of a single door. The socket b of the lower pivot may be provided with an adjustable passage b<2> to form a check device, the casing B being filled with oil. The loose rail moves between a pair of side rails F attached to the upper frame member D.
