Abstract

5600. Beals, W. W. March 23, 1910, [Convention date]. Condiment receptacles.-Consists in providing containers for substances in the form of powder or paste, with a cover 2, Fig. 1, having perforations 7, adapted to be closed by projections 9 on a member 3 when a knob 5 is turned so that arms 11 ride up on to cam surfaces 10. The member 3 is preferably perforated at 8, and is prevented from rotating by tongues 12 on the container engaging notches in the member, or vice versa. An elastic member 6 is preferably interposed between the cover and member 3. In a modification, the member 3 is made of flexible material and can be rotated to allow the projections 9 to snap into the perforations 7 as shown in Fig. 5. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) comprises also a statement that the valve member may be in the form of a spider, the arms of which are provided with the projections; this subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
