Abstract

170,436. Bentley Motors, Ltd., and Bentley, W. O. Aug. 10, 1920. Valve-gear.-The split bearings of an overhead cam shaft and the pivot bushes of the valve rockers are held in place by a detachable cap, allowing easy removal of these parts and access to the valves. The cam shaft A is mounted in split bearings C arranged in recesses in a carrier D connected to the top of the cylinder by studs X. The bushes E<2> of the valve-rocker pivots E are located in the top of the carrier D and, together with the bearings C, are held in place by a cap F secured by nuts on the studs X. A coverplate G is secured over the whole by other nuts X<2> on the same studs.
