Abstract

1472785 Spreaders AMAZONEN WERKE H. DREYER 29 Aug 1974 [3 Sept 1973] 37755/74 Heading AID A spreader with retractable wheels 6 comprises a frame 1 with container 2 and arms 7 which support the wheels 6 and further comprising supports 5 on which the spreader rests during loading. A releasable locking mechanism 8 allows the arms 7 and hence the wheels 6 to take up different pivotal positions for working or loading as the spreader is raised or lowered on the tractor power lift. The container 2 is divided almost to the top and each section has a metering device 18 with discharge apertures 20 and metering members 21 which are chain driven by the wheels 6. A spreader disc 23 is provided below each member 21, and driven by the power take-off from the tractor. A screening device 29 directs ejected material in a desired direction. In another embodiment a draw bar is provided so that the spreader is just a trailer and a double-acting hydraulic ram is mounted on the spreader to control the wheel positions. Means to assess the spreading rate in the form of a movable chute is provided.
