Abstract

1330687 Pneumatic conveyers EASTMAN KODAK CO 15 Oct 1970 [21 Oct 1969] 49105/70 Heading B8A [Also in Division B2] A mixture 11 of heavy tramp metal particles and light polyethylene particles are pneumatically conveyed along a conduit 15 from a silo 13 having an air vent 17 to a cyclone separator 19 (see Division B2) in which the metal particles are separated out by centrifugal force and from which the polyethylene particles are entrained with the air along a conduit 25 to a receiver 29 containing a supply 31 of the particles. When the supply 31 has built up to a predetermined level, a sensing device 33, e.g. a capacitance probe, acts through a control box 35 to stop a centrifugal suction fan 37 and the flow of particles along the system. After the level drops by a predetermined amount, the sensing device restarts the fan.
