1305648 Saunas P BEMBERG 8 May 1970 [8 May 1969 29 April 1970] 22390/70 Heading A4N [Also in Division F4] A sauna cabin, large enough for a person to sit, stand, and move about therein, has airheating means 16 which is arranged so that heated air enters the cabin adjacent to the ceiling 3 thereof. A partition 8 is spaced from the floor 2, the ceiling 3, and from one side-wall 5 of the cabin to form a vertical air-shaft 9 which is widened at the top 15 to accommodate the heater 16 and which has an air-inlet 12 in the outer cabin-wall 5 through which ambient air is drawn to be heated and a corresponding aperture 10 for re-cycling cooled air from the cabin. One or more outlets 17 may be provided in the cabinwall 4 opposite to the air-shaft and may have sliding ventilators 18. The walls of the airshaft adjacent to the heater have a refractory lining. Any form of heater may be used, but, as shown, it is electrical. To humidify the air, steam-generating means may be incorporated. In one construction, Fig. 2, (not shown), this comprises an apertured tube mounted directly above the heater and through which steam or water may be passed. In another form, Fig.3, (not shown), a water-tray is mounted directly upon the heater element and water can be supplied to this tray by the user of the sauna, via a pipe passing through the partition and terminating in the funnel within the cabin. Perfumes or other desirable additives may also be supplied to the evaporator.
