Abstract

1301834 Shower device J P GALLOWAY and D McGREGOR 8 April 1970 [22 Jan 1969] 3549/69 Heading A4N [Also in Division A5] A shower device comprises a plastics seat member 1, Fig.1 having a back 2 and opposed sides 3, the members 2 and 3 being substantially arcuate in horizontal cross-section, at least one chamber formed in the seat member 1, which chamber is hollow and provided with a plurality of perforations 6 arranged in the inner faces of the sides 3 and back 2, and means for supplying water or warm air, as required, via a valve 5 to the chamber or chambers. Perforations 7 are also provided on the top surface of the base of the seat member, and an outlet drain 8 is also provided. The seat member 1 is mounted on a pedestal 4 whose base can be secured to the floor. In another modification Fig.2 (not shown), the sides (3) are provided with flanges (10) to engage the sides (11) of the bath. In a further modification, Fig.3, the seat member 1 is mounted by means of sliders 18 resting on telescopically extendable arms 17 of a tubular frame 15 standing on legs 16 which are adjustable in height above the bath 12. The free ends of arms 17 may rest on one longitudinal edge 11 of the bath 12. The seat member 1 may have fluid supply conduits in the form of tubular members within the chambers and the device may have a towel rail or containers for soap.
