1301849 Sustained release medicament UZINA DE MEDICAMENTE BUCURESTI 16 Jan 1970 [15 Dec 1969] 61065/69 Heading A5B A sustained release tablet comprising an inert matrix of polyethylene and an active ingredient retained therein is made by compressing the active ingredient in finely powdered form with polyethylene made by the sodium amyl-catalysed polymerisation of ethylene. Optionally there may also be included polyvinyl pyrrolidone and polyethylene glycol 6000, a water-soluble salt or a surfactant, all of which modify the release characteristics.
