Abstract

1363062 Separating material by pneumatic and vibrating means BUEHLER AG Gebr 27 July 1971 [3 Aug 1970 5 July 1971] 15113/74 Divided out of 1359718 Heading B2H The subject-matter of this Specification is substantially the same as that described in the parent Specification 1,359,718 but the claims are concerned with an apparatus for sorting and separating granular material comprising: a feed inlet having an oscillatory feed channel for the material extending along an arrival region of an inclined air-pervious material support; means for causing upward air flow through the support; an outlet for the discharge of a major heavier fraction of the material disposed at the end of a conveyance path; an outlet for the discharge of a minor lighter fraction of the material disposed in a region distant from the conveyance path; the arrival region extending in a like direction as a line joining the heavier and lighter fraction outlets; vibration means for vibrating the material support relative to a base so as to impart throwing-action oscillatory movement to the material support at an acute angle to the conveyance path and with a component in the direction of conveyance; and means for varying the inclination of the material support relative to the base in the direction of the oscillatory movement and at right angles thereto.
