Abstract

1342161 Continuous casting ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 19 April 1971 [3 March 1970] 22783/71 Heading B3F In mouldless continuous casting in which a flow 11 of molten metal, such as steel, is confined (by electromagnetic forces induced by at least one coil 12 and directed towards the flowinterior), coolant 15 is supplied to the solidifying surface or to both, inside a thin non-magnetic screen 16, e.g. of stainless steel, arranged between the coil 12 and the metal to shield the coil from heat. Electrical insulation is located between the coil 12 and screen 16. The metal is cast on a support 14 which is lowered during the process. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,157,977.
