Rigid polyurethane foam structures may be formed by at least partly filling a mould with sufficient random fibre elements so as to compress them when the mould is closed and foaming in the closed mould. The structures may have covering layers, e.g. of metal or synthetic resin to produce a 'sandwich' construction. The face of the covering layer to contact the foam structure may also be coated with a fibre structure applied thereto by adhesive or electrostatic flocking to a thickness of 2-10 mm.
