Abstract

The slurry level 3. in a flotation machine is controlled by adjusting the slurry flow discharging from the machine at a selected point below the slurry level, the operation of a flow control device 6 being controlled by a sensing element 4 disposed under the slurry foam layer to sense the slurry level. As shown, the sensing element comprises a float 4 connected to a controller 5 by means of a setting connector 7 and damping spring 8, the float being cleansed by a water-spraying device 9.
