Abstract

A method of conveying liquid metal in an electromagnetic conveyer trough having one portion of an electromagnetic coil associated with a liquid propelling part of the trough and another portion of the coil associated with a delivery part of the trough, comprises controlling the energy density of the propelling portion of the coil so that it is from 10% to 30% higher than the energy density of the delivery portion of the coil.
