Abstract
1297273 Dihydrotriazines BEECHAM GROUP Ltd 19 April 1971 [4 April 1970] 16079/70 Heading C2C Compounds of the general formula (R 3 = substituted or unsubstituted C 3-10 alicyclic group; R 1 =H or C 1-4 alkyl; R 2 = C 1-4 alkyl; or CR 1 R 2 = C 5-7 spirocycloalkane group which may be C 1-4 alkyl-substituted) and their acid addition salts and acyl derivatives are prepared by (a) reacting R 1 COR 2 with (R 4 =R 3 or group capable of conversion to or replacement by R 3 ) followed by replacement of R 4 by R 3 , where necessary, or (b) etherifying the parent 1-hydroxy compound, optionally followed in either case by salt formation or acylation. The preparation of #<SP>3</SP>-cyclohexenylmethyl bromide, 3,4 - dichlorocyclohexylmethyl bromide, cyclohexylmethyl benzhydroxamate, cyclohexylmethoxyamine hydrochloride, 4,6-diamino-1,2- dihydro - 1 - hydroxy - 2,2 - spirocyclohexane- 1,3,5 - triazine and 3(4) - bromocyclohexylmethyl bromide is described. The above compounds are antimalarials, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.
