1282091 Mounting liquid fuel burners JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 22 Sept 1969 [27 June 1968] 30691/68 Heading F4T A liquid fuel burner 10, so mounted on a boiler 25, so as to slide between an aperture position and a second position at which a fuel supply valve 11 is automatically shut off and the burner can be removed. The burner is carried by a support which is slidably with respect to the boiler 25 and comprises plates; 26, 27 through which the burner passes and to which are secured horizontal plates 28, 29 and a box-shaped housing 31. The housing has a pivotal flap 32 which closes when the burner has been removed from the support. The horizontal plates 28, 29 support the supply valve 11 and a spill valve 13 which have operating arms engaging in slots 22, 24 in a plate 24 secured to the boiler so as to close the valves on sliding the burner to the second position. One end, 106, of the burner has a recess 38 in which engages a hand wheel 37 secured to one end of a pivotal clamp arm 35 so as to secure the burner to the plates 26, 27 when the burner is in the second position, the hand wheel can be unscrewed and the arm 35 pivoted upwardly to release the burner, such pivoting being prevented by a fixed bar 50 when the burner is in the operative position. The other end of the arm 35 carries a ring 41 between which and the arm 35 is formed a D-shaped opening into which a D-shaped part 46 carried by a spring urged piston 44 engages when the burner is in the second position. An extension 48 of the plate 27 is wedge-shaped at 49 so as to correspond with a block carried by the piston (44 and be engaged by same) when the burner has been removed. Thus the burner support cannot be moved to the operative position without the burner.
