Abstract

1275568 Forming spun yarns E FEHRER 19 Aug 1969 [16 Sept 1968] 41326/69 Heading D1D Spun yarns are produced by moving loose fibres between surfaces 1, 2 which move relative to each other in opposite directions and by then passing the fibres to a delivery station e.g. a pair of rolls 3 where they are held against twisting. As shown the fibres, which may be carried in an airstream from a carding drum, are passed into narrowing channels 1 over which an endless belt 2 runs. In a further form the fibres are passed between oppositely moving surfaces of a pair of endless belts. In this case the fibres are fed to the belts through a funnel shaped guide and from the belts through a guide to the delivery rollers. The belts may be replaced by a pair of rolls. Alternatively, a number of rolls may be provided parallel to and about the strand. In a further form radial troughs are formed in a circular table to co-operate with a disc which rotates over the troughs.
