Abstract
1,264,261. Benzyloxyamines. GYOGYSZERKUTATO INTEZET. 5 Feb., 1970 [10 Feb., 1969], No. 5646/70. Heading C2C. Novel compounds of.formula and acid addition salts thereof wherein R<SP>1</SP> is H or methyl and X, Y and Z are each H, Cl, Br, NO 2 , OH, SH, amino, methylmercapto, methoxy, methylsulphonyl or methylsulphonylamino provided only one is H and one is a group containing nitrogen or sulphur, are prepared either by hydrolysis of the corresponding N- isopropylidene benzyloxyamine or by treatment of the corresponding N-benzyloxyphthalimide with hydrazine, optionally followed by reduction of a nitro group to an amino group and/or salt formation. Compounds of formula wherein NR 1 R 2 is phthalimido are prepared by reaction of the corresponding benzyl halide and N-hydroxyphthalimide. Methyl 3 - methylsulphonylamino - 4 - methoxy-benzoate is prepared by reaction of methylsulphonyl chloride and methyl 3-amino-4- methoxy-benzoate. Pharmaceutical compositions having an enzyme inhibiting effect in conventional forms for oral, rectal or parenteral administration comprise an above novel compound and one or more diluents, carriers or excipients.
