Abstract
1,130,537. Rolling metal powder. SCHLOEMANNA.G. Jan. 28, 1966 [Feb.15, 1965], No. 4011/66. Heading C7D. Apparatus for feeding and uniformly distributing hot metal particles into a rolling mill comprises a swinging conveyer channel or shaker loader the breadth of which, at least at the discharge end, corresponds to the roll breadth. As shown in Figure 1 metal powder 2 heated in furnace 1 passes into a swinging conveyer channel or shaker loader 6, a wedge shaped stripping plate 11 and guide beads 12 aiding the powder distribution. A protective hood 14 supplied with a gas via 15 surrounds the region between the furnace and the rolls 4. A collecting channel (16) Fig. 3 (not shown) arranged between the furnace and conveyer 6 is moved to and fro over the breadth of the conveyer by shaft (17) and eccentric (18) so as to distribute the powder over the conveyer. The collecting channel (16) may also be deflected into position (16<SP>1</SP>) so that the powder is deflected from the conveyer either completely or partially.
