Abstract

1,174,072. Pulverising apparatus. OKAWARA SEISAKUSHO K.K. and TOHZAI SANGYO BOEKI CO. Ltd. 26 Sept., 1967 [1 Feb., 1967], No. 43659/67. Heading B2A. [Also in Division F4], An apparatus for drying chicken droppings comprises a rotary drying drum provided therein with means for stirring and pulverising the droppings, means for burning and deodorising the gases given off during drying and means for circulating the deodorised gases through the drying drum. As shown the drying apparatus comprises a rotary cylindrical drying drum 1 provided with rotating blades 7 for stirring and pulverising the chicken droppings fed in by screw, conveyer 5 from supply hopper 4, and .screen 8, the drum being enclosed by a semi-cylindric cover 2 and combustion furnace structure 13. The structure. comprises one or more combustion chambers 14 provided with oil burners 15. The gases given off during drying are exhausted through the outlet end of the drum and passed via conduit 12 into a combustion chambers 14 where the gases are deodorised. Part of the deodorised gases are withdrawn through conduit 16 by fan 17 and passed into drying drum 1 to aid in the drying process and part is exhausted through funnel 18.
