Abstract

1,172,049. Burners. ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd. 22 Oct., 1968, No. 50193/68. Addition to 1,114,026. Heading F4T. In a modification of or improvement in the fuel injector of Specification 1,114,026, the fuel pipe 126 is readily detachable from the central body 121. The central body has an edge 131 and the surface 129 upstream thereof flares outwardly so that the angular swirl velocity of the fuel flowing towards the edge 131 is reduced. The downstream end of the outer body 140 terminates downstream of the edge 131 and is provided with cowls 143, to give a spray of non-circular cross-section, and a heat shield 144.
