Abstract

1,161,044. Electric battery lamps. HONOUR METAL MFG. CO. Ltd. 18 March, 1968, No. 13058/68. Heading F4R. A torch of the type comprising a tubular battery-holding barrel 1 having independently operable flashlight and blinker bulbs at opposite ends includes a removable contact assembly at the same end as the blinker bulb 45, the assembly comprising a first substantially circular contact element 35 adapted to receive the bulb and having a peripheral flange 43 resting on the edge of the barrel, a second substantially circular contact element 37 separated from the first element by an insulating separator 36, and a spring member 38 adapted to engage one terminal of the battery and fixed to the separator in such a way that it is electrically connected to the first element but insulated from the second element. Metal strips 57, 24 in contact with the respective elements lead to switches (31, 32, Fig. 2, not shown) which control the flashlight and blinker bulbs respectively.
