Abstract

1,043,034. Electric battery lamps. BRIDGEPORT METAL GOODS MANUFACTURING CO. June 21, 1965 [Nov. 17, 1964], No. 26128/65. Heading F4R. An electric hand lantern comprises a chamber 10 for housing batteries C 1 -C 4 in side-by-side relation, conductor means comprising a double spiral spring 26 to connect the adjacent batteries, lamp bulb holding means 50 connecting the base contact of the bulb 46 to one side of battery C4 and including a portion 48 connected to the shell of the bulb, a sliding switch 34 for making contact with the portion 48 and a conductive strip 30 connecting the switch to the other pole of battery C2. A bell 12 in which a reflector 40 of metallized plastic is held by a threaded ring 42 which also secured a plastic lens 44 in place. The switch consists of a metallic strip 34 having a raised central portion movable in a slot in the wall of the chamber 10 and riveted to a slider button, the front end having a nose 34b for contacting the portion 48. The bulb holding means is a plastic insert having a rivet at the base contacting one pole of the battery and connected to the base contact of the bulb by a spring 54.
