Abstract

1,158,424. Hand trucks. C.D.T. DESIGN CONSULTANTS Ltd. 20 Sept., 1966 [23 Sept., 1965], No. 40589/65. Heading B7B. [Also in Division B8] A pallet comprises a square frame of inverted U channel-section with cross-beams 11 and a wheel 12 at each corner. Each wheel 12 is mounted for rotation in a fork 13 of a carrier having a spindle 14 journalled in a bracket 15 attached to the frame. The wheels 12 are all parallel and the carriers are joined by bars 18 pivoted to links 16. Four actuating means, one on each side of the pallet, each comprising a pedal arm 20, Fig. 5 (not shown), enables all four wheels 12 to be simultaneously turned through a right angle from any side of the pallet by footpressure. The wheels 12 may be interconnected by sprockets and roller chains or roller chain coupled by bars (not shown). One or more pallets may be coupled together in which case provision may be made for coupling the wheel operating means.
