[Also in Division B1] A travelling device for mowing green fodder, processing it and distributing the liquid product as fertilizer comprises a casing, forming at one end a screw housing 19 and at the other end a compression chamber 21 having liquid discharge holes 49, a screw conveyer 20 of substantially constant pitch having one end rotatably mounted in screw housing 19 and its other end extending into but not through compression chamber 21, and a removable flat 39 which is retained by a hydraulic cylinder 40 to open at a predetermined pressure in the compression chamber. Green fodder mown by knives 6 is fed to conveyer screw 20 from receptacle 7, and liquid containing nutrients extracted from the fodder pass through holes 23 and 49, is collected in containers 24, and 48 and distributed through 55 and 47 as fertilizer. The fodder is conveyed by screw 20 without substantial compression because of the constant pitch to compression chamber 21 where it is compressed. Liquid discharged through holes 23 into container 24 contain only a small amount of nutrients because of the low pressure exerted on the fodder in the screw housing 19, whereas the liquid passing through holes 49 into container 48 is more concentrated in nutrients because of the greater pressure exerted on the fodder in the compression chamber 21.
