Abstract

1,009,790. Cutting maize. SOC. DES ETABLISSEMENTS RIVIERRE CASALIS. Feb. 27, 1963 [March 1, 1962], No. 7945/63. Heading A4C. [Also in Division A1] In a maize harvester stalks are fed by a conveyer 2 to a cutting arrangement including a blade 21 extending transversely of the machine from which the crop falls on to a conveyer 32 to be fed to a threshing cylinder and concave 35. The conveyer 2 comprises two chains having transverse members such as 4c carrying transversely extending plates such as 5c which cooperate with the cutter 21 to cut the crop. Further cutters 24, 25 in the form of rigid plates are fixed to shaft 10 which carries the sprocket wheels 8 supporting the chains of the conveyer.
