Abstract

A device for use in maintaining the tension in a racket string whilst an adjacent string is being mounted, comprises two vices mounted at opposite ends of a rigid support member and adapted to be clamped on to the string within the confines of the racket frame. Preferably the length of the rigid support member is adjustable to vary the distance apart of the vices, and one of the vices is provided with serrations for engagement over the longitudinal strings of the racket whilst transverse stringing is being effected, or repaired.
