Abstract

The racquet for tennis and similar games has a frame enclosing a roughly oval strung part, and a handle extending along the symmetrical axis. The strings fixed to the frame form lengthwise strings extending parallel to the symmetrical axis and crosswise strings at right angles to the symmetry axis. At some points round the frame there are two strings threaded through the same hole. The number of points to which two lengthwise strings are joined in the top of the racquet is one more than the number of points to which two lengthwise strings are joined near the handle.
