Abstract
1,092,408. Discharge and reclaiming apparatus. BETEILIGUNGS-UND PATENTVERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. Nov. 11, 1965 [Nov. 12, 1964; June 25, 1965], No. 47922/65. Headings B8A and B8E. [Also in Division E1] A storage-depot discharging and reclaiming installation comprises a bucket wheel 1 attached to one end of a belt bridge 2 supported at the other end by a transfer device 3, extending over an endless conveyer 5, and supported intermediate the ends by a caterpillar mounted chassis 15 steerable independant of the belt bridge 2 and movable along the longitudinal length thereof. The transfer device 3 comprises a gantry-like base 4 running on rails 6 laid at each side of the endless conveyer 5, and supporting a ball-type swivel ring 7 and a supporting ring 8 to which the belt bridge 2 is attached by trunnions 10, the horizontal centre line of which intersects the vertical axis of rotation of the ball ring 7. The bridge 2 may thus pivot about vertical and horizontal axes relative to the transfer device, and the belt 13 thereon discharges into a hopper 12 extending through the rings 7, 8. The chassis 15 comprises a single point bearing, e.g. a ball 17 or a universal joint, mounted on the chassis 15 and supporting a rocker 16 having rollers 18 for engagement with two rails 19 extending longitudinally along the underside of the belt bridge. In another embodiment, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), the bucket wheel (1) and a scraper (23) are carried by a jib (21) movable in a vertical direction about the bridge. In a further embodiment, Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown), for discharge only a discharge drum (26), related to the conveyer (5), feeds a conveyer (24), the discharge drum (27) of which is mountad on a jib 28 for vertical movement about the belt bridge (2). In a further embodiment, Figs. 10 and 11 (not shown), for combined discharge and reclaiming the discharge drum (31) and the bucket wheel (1) are mounted on the same jib (30) which may be pivotable in the vertical direction. A reversible belt may replace the discharge belt (24) and the reclaim belt (13). In a further embodiment, Figs. 13 and 14 (not shown), for discharge only the mounting means on the chassis (15) and the transfer device (3) are exchanged to permit the belt bridge (42) to move longitudinally in relation to the transfer device and thus vary the radius of discharge. A shoot (52) attached to the belt bridge (42) ensures successful transfer between the discharge drum (26) and the discharge belt (50). In a final embodiment, Fig. 15 (not shown), for combined discharge and reclaim, the discharge drum (37) and the bucket wheel (1) are mounted on a single jib (32) and utilize a single reversible belt conveyer (34). The axis of the reversing drum (38) of which coincides with the pivotal axis of the jib (32) and is substantially in vertical alignment above and below the axes of the reversing drums (39), (40) of the respective reclaim belt (35) and the discharge belt (36).
