Abstract

1,071,044. Swivel joints. BURMAN & SONS Ltd. and W. H. BRIGGS. Jan. 5, 1966 [Jan. 25, 1965], No. 3114/65. Heading E2F. [Also in Division F2] A swivel joint interconnecting two mechanical components comprises a socket 10, formed by two arms 12 which have plane internal surfaces 13, and a spigot 14 having part cylindrical surfaces 16 which engage the plane surfaces 13. A shroud 19 is formed with part spherical surfaces 21 which bear on part spherical surfaces (22) on the spigot between the part cylindrical surfaces 16. A coil spring 17 may be inserted in a recess (18) in the spigot to engage the adjacent plane surface 13.
