Abstract

1,046,382. Cleaning endless conveyers. M. FEHR. July 1, 1965 [April 23, 1965], No 27993/65. Heading B8A. A magnetic device for cleaning magnetic particles from the return span 10a of an endless belt conveyer 10 comprises a series of resiliently mounted permanent or electric magnets 14, 15 completely spanning the width of the belt either on one row or in staggered rows. The magnets are embedded in resilient non-magnetic material, only the poles of the magnets being exposed at a distance from the underside of the return span 10a. The remote end of the resilient mounting is secured to a fixed frame. The resilient mounting between the poles of the magnets may be adapted to carry and spray a cleaning agent on to the belt, Fig. 5 (not shown).
