Advanced support bedding element

The present invention relates to the field of bedding and more particularly concerns a bedding element with advanced support.

In the field of bedding, certain covering elements such as fitted sheets are fixed at the four corners of the mattress by elastic bands while others, such as sheets and duvets are blocked under the mattress at their edges side and footboard.

However, it frequently happens that these elements become detached from the mattress, which can present disadvantages, particularly when using the bedding, for example during the night.

There is therefore a need for a simple and effective solution to at least partially remedy these drawbacks.

For this purpose, the invention firstly relates to a bedding element for a mattress, said mattress having a first end designated mattress foot and a second end designated mattress head, said bedding element comprising a central portion of rectangular shape, said central portion comprising an upper face, a lower face, a head edge, a foot edge and two side edges, the bedding element being remarkable in that it comprises at least one expandable pocket, fixed to the foot edge or at the head edge and at the side edges extending under the lower face of said central portion and being configured to receive the mattress foot, respectively the mattress head in order to maintain the bedding element on said mattress foot, respectively said mattress head.

The bedding element can for example be a fitted sheet, a sheet, a duvet, a blanket or any other suitable bedding element. Several bedding elements according to the invention can be superimposed, for example a fitted sheet, a sheet and/or a duvet cover, so that the bed is easy to make and the bedding elements are securely held in place on the mattress.

The advanced support bedding element allows the bedding element to be quickly, efficiently and securely fixed using the expandable pocket(s) which slip over the mattress. The bedding element being adapted to the dimensions of the mattress and the pocket(s) blocking the bedding element around one or more areas of the mattress, the bedding element cannot become unhooked during its use on a mattress. The extensible nature of the pocket(s) allows the bedding element to be removed when necessary, for example to clean it, without however allowing it to be removed while an individual is lying on the mattress, when standard use of the mattress. In addition, the use of a pocket which receives a portion of the mattress makes it possible to avoid the extra thickness generated by the folding of the corners of a bedding element under the mattress, thus avoiding unnecessarily raising the mattress, particularly at the level of his foot. An obvious solution based on the solutions known from the prior art to elastics would have been to modify the size or shape of the elastics, while keeping one elastic per corner, which always presents the disadvantage of possible detachment.

Preferably, the at least one expandable pocket is made of a material whose elasticity is greater than 15%.

Advantageously, the at least one expandable pocket extends over at least 10%, preferably at least 15%, more preferably at least 20%, of the length of the side edges.

In one embodiment, the at least one expandable pocket is made from the same material of the central portion.

In another embodiment, the at least one expandable pocket is made of a material different from the material of the central portion.

According to one aspect of the invention, the at least one expandable pocket is made of mesh fabric or Lycra.

In one embodiment, the at least one expandable pocket extends under the bedding element along the head edge and/or along the foot edge, preferably over their entire length.

In another embodiment, the at least one expandable pocket extends under the bedding element along one or both side edges of the central portion, preferably over their entire length.

In one embodiment, for example for a fitted sheet, the bedding element comprises an expandable foot pocket, attached to the foot edge and the side edges by extending under the underside of the central portion and being configured for receiving the mattress foot in order to hold the bedding element on said mattress foot, and an expandable head pocket, attached to the head edge and to the side edges by extending under the underside of the central portion and being configured to receive the mattress head in order to hold the bedding element on said mattress head.

The foot pocket and the head pocket can be made from the same material or from two different materials, in particular from two materials having different elasticity.

According to one aspect of the invention, the central portion comprises at least one thickness of material.

Preferably, the at least one pocket comprises one or more gripping members, for example handles, allowing it to be put on the mattress or other bedding elements easily and quickly. This or these gripping members can for example be sewn or fixed by any suitable means of attachment (rivets, heat-sealing, etc.).

Preferably, the foot pocket 210P and/or the head pocket 210T each extend over at least 10% of the length of the central portion 210, preferably over at least 15%, more preferably at least 20%.

The foot pocket 210P and the head pocket 210T are made of a stretchable material, for example a stretchable fabric or a stretchable plastic material. The foot pocket 210P and the head pocket 210T can be made of two different stretchy materials, for example one of which has greater elasticity than the elasticity of the other.

The stretchable material can be a knitted fabric, that is to say a knitted fabric, unlike so-called “warp and weft” fabrics which are woven fabrics. Figures 5 to 7 show a bedding element of the sheet or blanket or plaid or duvet type. In this case, the expandable pocket(s) can be mounted over a fitted sheet, according to the invention or the prior art, already fixed on the mattress 10. With reference to Figures 5 to 7, the element of bedding 20 includes a single foot pocket 210P expandable so as to lock the bedding area around the feet of the individual 2 while allowing him to free himself from the bedding element 20 at the level of the mattress head 10T. In this case, the central portion 210 is no longer rectangular so that the side edges 210BL can hang on the sides of the mattress 10 or be bordered under the mattress 10. This embodiment makes it possible to reduce the size of the element bedding 10 at the level of the foot pocket 210P, compared to a conventional sheet of the prior art, because it is no longer necessary to provide material to be bordered in this area, which reduces the cost of the material forming the central portion 210. Likewise, the foot pocket 210P maintaining the bedding element 20 optimally on the mattress 10, the heights of the side edges 210BL of the central portion 210 can be reduced.

We represented at the another example in which the bedding element 20 according to the invention is a duvet cover. The duvet cover includes a 210P foot pocket suitable for slipping over the mattress 10 (possibly with a fitted sheet interfacing). The foot pocket 210P is fixed to the internal surface of the duvet cover, for example by sewing, so as to be fixed on the mattress 10 invisibly when the duvet cover is placed on the mattress 10 while being securely put on on the foot of the mattress 10. The edges of the duvet cover thus fall on the sides of the mattress in the standard way.

In other embodiments, the expandable pocket(s) could extend along the side edges of the central portion, over their entire length, so as to fix the bedding element 20 along its two lengths.

In any embodiment of the bedding element according to the invention, the pocket may comprise one or more handles allowing it to be placed easily and quickly on the mattress 10. For example, one or more handles may be provided under the pocket or on each side of the pocket. As an example, we have shown on the an example of a foot pocket 210P comprising a handle 211 on each side face (only one handle 211 being visible in this side perspective view).

The invention therefore has the advantage of being able to fix a bedding element securely on a mattress so as to prevent it from coming loose during use.

Advantageously, several bedding elements according to the invention can be superimposed, for example a fitted sheet, a sheet and/or a duvet cover, so that the bed is easy to make and the bedding elements are securely held in place. place on the mattress.

The bedding element according to the invention is particularly advantageous in the field of hotels in order to reduce the training of staff to make beds, in particular to tuck sheets and duvets to the extent that the bedding element is put on on the mattress.

The bedding element according to the invention is also particularly advantageous for elderly or disabled people due to its quick and simplified installation and its firm hold on the mattress.
