Abstract

The body-shell includes, within the passenger area (H), front-to-rear hollow members on each side at floor (18) and roof (28) level, transversely interconnected at front and rear. The front duct is routed behind the dash-board (B), with separately controlled outlets directed towards the occupants and, for demisting, the windscreen (P). Upper and lower channels on each side are interconnected by vertical passages (24, 26), e.g. within door pillars; these have outlets (30, 32) at intermediate points near passenger seats. Internal barriers restrict circulation above the latter outlets. The heater or air-conditioner (12), placed under the floor - opt., in the engine compartment - draws in fresh and/or recycled air (14). After treatment, a fan discharges it into the duct system.
