Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to the field of floor coverings for the realization of soft and porous floors suitable for use as play areas or sports, such as tennis courts. It particularly concerns new compositions, intended to be applied on rigid and hard screeds constituting the foundation of a sports field, and providing flexible and porous coatings allowing in particular the evacuation of rainwater.
Many sports fields, especially tennis courts, have as rigid screed porous concrete slabs or plates (also called cavernous) or porous mixes, well known constitution. The porosity is intended to facilitate the evacuation, by the seat, rainwater and / or cleaning.
Usually, this screed is coated, as a surface coating, with a pigmented aqueous paint containing polymers or interpolymers as binders. Such a final layer does not provide the necessary flexibility to the soil and it. also presents various disadvantages among which we must mention in particular: a relatively rapid wear, which requires frequent rejuvenation of surfaces of this type, but especially a sliding power that becomes dangerous in case of high humidity due to the impermeability of such coatings and their content, low or zero, in sandy charges.
The object of the invention is to obviate these drawbacks and to develop a type of coating which, while providing the necessary flexibility to the concrete or the base mix, imparts a non-slip character to the surface and inhibits the phenomena slip on the latter. It also aims a surface composition having good porosity characteristics and able on the one hand to allow a partial evacuation of water through its layer but also to evacuate another part of these waters by simple runoff, thereby avoiding deterioration premature foundation of the book.
To achieve these aims, the invention proposes to replace the above surface paint with a porous coating consisting of the combination of a powder and / or pigment paste and an aqueous dispersion based on certain terpolymers and charges in relative proportions well determined with respect to the polymeric binder, other conventional additives being incorporated in this dispersion to achieve the desired results.
a) 20 à 40 parties d'un terpolymère d'éthylène, chlorure de vinyle et acétate de vinyle ;
b) 30 a 120 parties d'une charge fine dont la majeure partie des particules a un diamètre inférieur à 0,6 mm ;
c) 0,5 à 1,5 partie d'un agent thixotrope insensible a l'eau f
d) 0,2 a 0,8 partie d'un agent dispersant des matériaux de coloration, de type anionique ou non ionique ;
e) 0,1 à 0,3 partie d'un agent anti-mousse exempt de silicone ;
According to the invention, the aqueous dispersion advantageously comprises, per 100 parts by weight
a) 20 to 40 parts of a terpolymer of ethylene, vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate;
b) 30 to 120 parts of a fine filler, most of the particles of which have a diameter less than 0.6 mm;
c) 0.5 to 1.5 parts of a thixotropic agent insensitive to water f
d) 0.2 to 0.8 parts of an anionic or nonionic coloring agent dispersant;
e) 0.1 to 0.3 parts of a silicone-free antifoam agent;
f) 0.3 to 1.1 parts of a biocidal agent; the complement to 100 parts consisting of ordinary water, such as city water.
According to a characteristic of the invention, to obtain the desired porosity of the final coating, the amount of filler in the composition must reach at least 170 parts per 100 parts (weight) of the terpolymer binder and it is advantageously between 170 and 300 parts ( weight). This filler preferably consists of silica sand with 70-420 micron or 74-590 micron granulometric forks. This for the surface layer but can be used for the primer, crushed granules, for example flint type, or calcium carbonate, size 0.5 to 3 mm. In addition, in certain cases, it is possible to add, to the filler, diatomaceous silica of preferential granulometry 1 to 10 microns so as to increase the resistance to abrasion. However, this addition should not be used in excessive doses. in order not to diminish the sought porosity.
Any interpolymer of vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate and ethylene may be suitable according to the invention. In practice, the percentages of monomers generally vary between 5 and 30% for ethylene, 30 to 90% for vinyl chloride and 5% for vinyl acetate (percentages by weight).
The other aforementioned constituents of the composition are adjuvants whose action is known per se. For example, colloidal silica of about 1 to about 10 microns or any other equivalent functional material can be used as the thixotropic agent with the exception, however, of water-sensitive products such as derivatives and polymers. cellulose. The dispersing agent may be chosen from anionic or nonionic products already used in aqueous polymer dispersions, for example aliphatic ethers of polyoxyalkyl or alkylaryl ethers such as ethoxylated houy) phenol. The antifoaming agent may consist of an alkyl phosphate or equivalent product. Finally, any one or mixtures of the well-known products effective against algae and molds, such as, for example, miscible with water based on organotin derivatives or products of equivalent action.
In addition, it is often advantageous to incorporate in the aforementioned aqueous composition a water-immiscible organic solvent, such as white spirit or the like, acting as a coalescing agent and making it possible to work at temperatures close to 50.degree. zero degrees.
As the pigment components incorporated in the aqueous dispersion, it is possible to use, at a rate of approximately 2 to 10% relative to the weight of said dispersion, either metal oxide powders or else pasty pigmentary preparations based on such powders and organic dyes is still mixtures of powder and fart.
