Description

COMPOSIONS AQUEUSES POUR LE TRAITEMENT ANTISAUSSURE DES
MATERIAUX DECONSTRUCTION
AQUEOUS COMPOSIONS FOR THE ANTI-SOUS TREATMENT OF
CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS
The present invention relates to the oleophobic and hydrophobic treatment of building materials such as concrete, bricks or terracotta tiles, sandstone, natural stones, wooden pavers, ceramics, plasters and bitumens. It relates more particularly to compositions for the anti-fouling treatment of floors made with these materials.

To impart oleophobic and hydrophobic properties to building materials, the application of various products has already been proposed, such as acrylic varnishes or polyurethane varnishes, or vegetable oil-based impregnations such as linseed oil, or of silicones. However, these products all have drawbacks. Thus, in addition to their generally high price, polyurethanes must most often be applied in a two-component system in a solvent medium with a catalyst; they also considerably modify the surface appearance of the treated material and cannot be applied either on fresh concrete or on wet substrates. Acrylic varnishes with only a hydrophobic character are of limited effectiveness. Vegetable oils and silicones are used in a solvent medium, cannot be applied on fresh concrete or on wet supports and do not confer resistance properties. oils; on the other hand, vegetable oils also modify the surface appearance of the treated materials. Finally, none of these products gives the supports a self-cleaning character.

New aqueous compositions have now been found which can be easily applied to any building material, dry or wet, and which, without appreciably modifying the surface appearance of the material, give it, after a short drying time, the both water-repellent, oil-repellent, anti-fouling and self-cleaning properties, stable to aging and weathering.

(A) de 5 à 45 %, de préférence 10 à 25 %, d'une dispersion aqueuse d'un polymère ou copolymère non fluoré, le taux de matières sèches de cette dispersion pouvant aller de 30 à 60 %, de préférence 40 à 50 O/o ;

As silicone derivatives which can be used as constituent (C), mention may more particularly be made of alkylalkoxysilanes (for example mgthyl-, isobutyl-, isooctyl- or phenyl-trialcoxysilanes), alkylalkoxysiloxanes (for example, octyl-, isoctyl- or tolyl-alkoxysiloxanes) or alkylsilicones (for example, methyl-silicones).

The aqueous dispersions (A), (B) and (C) used to prepare the compositions according to the invention can be of anionic, cationic or nonionic nature, but they must be chosen so as to be compatible with one another.

As water-soluble stabilizer (D), there may be mentioned more particularly glycols such as ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, glycerin, N-alkylpyrrolidones (for example N-mgthyl-pyrrolidone), amino alcohols such as diethanolamine or triethanolamine, and polyethylene glycols.
