Abstract
The process comprises circulating the water in a zone in which an ozonised gas is drawn into the atmos. surrounding the liq. flow and after mixing, the gas/liq. mixt. is passed through a catalytic bed, at least a part of the outflow being recycled to the aspirating zone. The liq. is pref. passed through an appts. which gives a pressure-drop, esp. a gas/liq. ejector such as water pump, venturi etc. The ozonised gas is pref. ozonised air, oxygen or oxygen enriched air contg. 1-60 g./m3 O3, esp. 5-40 g./m3. The process is an improvement on known ozone treatments giving high ozonisation and purificn. yields.
