Abstract
The condenser, for a steam turbine of an electric power station, is made in two parts with a dividing wall. The condensate from the first section is at a lower temperature and pressure than the condensate from the second section. The condensate from the first section flows into a siphon with a head of water to maintain the pressure difference between the sections. The condensate then flows over a series of plates and condenses the vapour mixed with the condensate which is flowing through the section section, which has the effect of increasing the final temperature of the mixed condensate.
