Abstract

Procédé de traitement d'une matière contenant de l'oxyde de fer par passage dans un four tubulaire rotatif incliné afin d'en éliminer le zinc et le plomb par volatilisation, cette matière étant chargée sous forme de pellets et mélangée à un agent réducteur à base de carbone, et une fraction de la matière défournée étant recyclée et mélangée à la matière brute avant pelletisation de celle-ci. Selon le procédé de l'invention, on broie la matière recyclée séparée de la matière défournée contenant du fer métallique et on la réduit à une taille inférieure au millimètre environ avant de la mélanger à la matière brute, et l'on sèche au moins partiellement les pellets à une température inférieure à 300 degrés C en présence d'oxygène.
