Abstract
The catalytic conversion of hydrocarbon feedstocks is carried out by contacting the feed with H2 in a S- and H2O-free reaction zone contg. an acidic catalyst comprising (a) a proous support, (b) 0.01-2 wt. % of a Pt-group metal in metallic form, (c) 0.5-5 wt. % of Co in metallic form or in a state reducible to the metal under the conversion conditions (d) 0.01-5 wt. % Sn in a positive oxidn. state and (e) 0.1-3.1 wt. % halogen, components (b), (c) and (d) being dispersed uniformly throughout the support. The process esp. applies to reforming.
