Abstract

Flexible, thin wall containers for packaging liqs., where some liq. is trapped in a subsidiary chamber of relatively small vol. but positioned to stiffen the container and stabilise its shape when the main compartment has been partially emptied. Equipment designed to weld folded thermoplastic film into packs with subsidiary compartments. The pack may have one or two minor compartments, positioned for use as handles. The compartment may be filled independently after welding the intermediate seam, or the seam may be welded to subdivide a prefilled sachet. Esp. useful for packaging drinks in 1/4-1 litre capacity packs. Avoids use of ancillary inserts, frames or holders to support the pack shape.
