Abstract

The bullet-proof waistcoat comprises a mattress formed of layers of synthetic fibre cloth of a high degree of strength. It is cut in one piece, simultaneously covering the back and the front of the body and with a fastening at the side. The layers are secured together by stitching along the line of the shoulders and the neck only. The layers can be accommodated in a protective envelope, secured by stitching along one of the shoulder lines only at front or rear and also along the neckline. The front and rear faces of the waist coat are secured together by hocking or sewing at the shoulders or under the arms of the envelope.
