Abstract
A system is used to cut off all electric current in the event of a vehicle being in an accident. The structure consists of an inertia block maintained between fixed glass surfaces which absorbs vertical accelerations and, under horizontal accelerations, of movements greater than a few centimetres, the inertia block has one degree of freedom, such that the tail of the button, moving against the spring displaces the stem of the lever against the pivot. The movement of this lever causes other rods and levers to disconnect the braided electrical wire (8), which is connected externally to a battery terminal, from the other external terminal of the system. At the same time the levers push out the reset button (36).
