Abstract

The stop limits the opening of a vehicle door and holds it open. It comprises two U section arms (13, 14) pivoting (11, 12) on brackets (8, 9) fixed to door (1) an bodywork (2), forward of the hinges (3, 4, 6, 7). Both arms are joined by a common pivot. The arm (13) on the bodywork has a slot (23) each side, forming a guide for an oval tube (127). Between the pivot and tube is a coil spring (18) inside the U section. The other similar section arm (14) has the common pivot end (133) formed into a concavity (133c) each side. As the door opens the spring loaded tube rides over this end to rest in the concavities.
