Abstract

The stopper is in two parts, the lower part having a diameter (d2) which corresponds to the bore of the bottle neck. A flange (6) is joined to the top of the lower half of the stopper. The upper part of the stopper is joined to the lower half at the inner diameter (d1). When the stopper is forced into the bottle neck, the end of the flange (8) is forced into the neck by flexing at the section (e). The lower part of the upper flange sits on the top of the bottle neck.
