Abstract

The purpose of this device is the recovery of grain from the straw shakers of a combine harvester, by spreading out the material arriving from the drum, thus allowing the grain to fall down and be collected. This aim is achieved by means of a number of star shaped wheels integral with a shaft running transversely above the straw shakers and set on the shaft, one above each shaker, at an angle so that they carry out an oscillating, transverse movement, thus spreading and teasing out the straw. The speed of the shaft can be synchronised with that of the shakers or it may be different.
