Abstract

The collecting device on an agricultural machine harvests rows of cereals, especially maize, with a cutting device with driven folded belts. These are arranged near each other in a common conveyor channel that the plant stalks separated by the cutting device is clamped between the folding belts and is transported to the adjacent chopping device via a trough which closes the feed channel at the bottom. Specifically, the feed channel is open at the bottom in that region which is directly adjacent to the cutting discs (1, 2) which form the cutting device. The length of the opening at the feed channel (8) behind the cutting discs (1, 2) in the feed direction is equal to or greater than the channel width.
