Abstract

A winding insulation for the wire wound coils of electrical machines comprises a helically wound, partly overlapping and impregnated insulating material. The material is in the form of a band contg. >=1 mica layer with a plastic sheet on both faces of the band, the plastic is secured by a solvent-free binding agent. Pref. the plastic sheets are each 15 mu thick and esp. of polycarbonate, the mica layer is pref. 50-150 mu thick.
