Abstract
The solar heat storage unit is designed for incorporation in a building, to absorb thermic energy from the sun and conduct it to the interior. The assembly comprises a structural element on one side, designed for heat absorption and a layer of heat-insulating material on the other side of the element. There is a heat-exchanger device, pref. in the form of a chamber or gap between element and layer, with ventilation fittings along its edge, to effect heat transfer between the absorption element and the area to be heated. The heat-exchanger may also be a radiation element, with intake and return ducts connected to the absorption element so as to facilitate a natural circulation of a heating fluid. The element can also fulfil the functions of a normal external wall element.
