Abstract

The vehicle is for cutting mai e and similar plants, having a chassis carrying engine, cab and controls supported on front and rear gantries carrying the driving and steering wheels and accessories, such as a power take-off. The gantries give enough clearance to drive over the crops, and the track is adjustable to suit the distances between the rows. The front gantry can have four driving wheels, and track adjustment can be by sections of the gantry beams sliding in and out of each other. The rear gantry carrying the steering wheels can have a steering shaft on the chassis and two parallel tubes inside which other tubes slide, coupled via the gantry columns to the steering wheels.
